To spotlight the Hispanic and Latino community, Victoria’s Secret & Co. Is focusing on Juntos (translation: “together”) and we’re highlighting the importance of working together to achieve a common goal. We are a team of leaders, entrepreneurs, mentors, allies, and voices that can accomplish difficult goals, inspire, and succeed because we’re better together. Somos mejores juntos.
Our 2023 Partnership with HISPA
In the past, we’ve partnered with HISPA, a nonprofit organization that motivates Latinx students to discover their potential and ignite the desire to embrace education and achieve success.
VS&Co’s Imagine Day
Last year, we hosted an Imagine Day at our New York office, focused on creating change and opening perspectives to the many retail career paths we offer. As a result, we were able to give 40 students hands-on experience at VS&Co. They experienced everything from learning what it takes to bring a product to life to hearing from our Hispanic and Latino leaders about their career journeys. The goal was to show these students opportunities they can explore in the future while painting a picture of how important and impactful the Hispanic community is to our brand.
This year, in addition to kicking off several cultural events, we’re excited to partner with Diana Flores to speak at our Press Pause call. Flores is the quarterback of Mexico’s flag football national team and brought home a gold medal this summer in Paris.
Our Conexión Group
Meet the inclusion resource group (IRG) for associates who identify as Hispanic and/or Latinx and their allies. The organization’s mission is to provide an inclusive associate network that celebrates the Hispanic and/or Latinx culture, develops associates through leadership and professional development, while positively elevating Victoria’s Secret & Co. to this important demographic.
Spotlight on Some of Our Hispanic & Latinx Associates
We’ll be using our social platforms to give our associates a voice to tell us about their background, who inspires them, and what makes them proud. You’ll hear from associates including:
Forrest Deegan
Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer
“Being Hispanic, to me, is a reflection of faith and family. It is a crucial part of my identity: past, present and future. I was fortunate to be raised within two cultures, to see the differences and the value in both. My mother’s family taught me the importance of connectivity, emotion, and shared experience.”
Jesenia Espinal
Director of Product Development
“Hispanic means being a part of a close-knit community and familia; with unlimited support and love.”
Maricarmen Gonzalez
District Manager for Miami Metro & Puerto Rico
“One of my role models is Rita Moreno, a Puerto Rico-born American actress, dancer, and singer. She is an example of perseverance and achievement for all Hispanic generations.”
